WHY DID NBC BAN WIZKID & PHYNO's SONGS?{Via@234VIBES}

It's no longer a news that NBC has banned Radio Stations in Nigeria from playing 'The Matter' by Wizkid ft Maleek Berry and 'Man of The Year' by Phyno. However,the question that is still begging for answer is why were these songs banned? The National Broadcasting Commission is a parastatal of the Federal Government of Nigeria, empowered to regulate the broadcasting industry by law. One of the commission's responsibility is setting standards with regards to the contents and quality of materials broadcast. In view of the above, we can therefore assume that these two songs contain lewd lyrical content. Now let me ask you,have you listened to the songs? What do you think of the lyrics?  According to Beat FM OAP(On-Air Personality) Gbemi,who shared the news via twitter, artistes are advised to make a radio edit of their songs if they want it played on radio. She advised artistes to censor their songs before releasing it so as to avoid NBC plan. Holistically, what is the effect of NBC ban on these songs? Will it reduce it's popularity? Will it stop DJs and Alaba boys from playing and selling it? Don't you think the ban will even increase the chances of more downloads via various download sites as a result of curiosity? As a matter of fact,it may get to a point that artistes will be begging NBC to ban their songs if that is what will make the songs popular. No doubt,radio has its massive listeners but these days, mobile gadgets attract more patronage than a radio station. So if these songs are banned on radio stations,will it be banned on the internet as well? Let's read you views.
